Berry is a born and raised Texan. He has spent 5 years as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist working with all populations in fitness, athletic training, and rehabilitation. He graduated with a master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler, and he has also worked as an instructor at the university. His passions are teaching, writing, hiking, and photography.

 

After coming to the knowledge of Christ in 2020, Berry discovered the beauty and overwhelming sense of awe that is in the outdoors. From many solo trips across the country, he learned to discern the voice of God and grow in a relational partnership with Christ. The peace and quiet, accompanied with the feeling of healthy discomfort, allowed him to step out of his normal routine and experience Christ in the wilderness. It was on a mountain top where he asked God to show His glory and Berry's purpose. It was in a valley where he cried out for mercy.

 

All of these experiences have created in Berry a resilience, a purpose, and a passion to lead others to the same experience so that they may know the true God that is Jesus Christ. God has called him to teach and to lead, and he has been given the opportunity to do so through Ascend. Through Ascend, he can embody the belief of Psalm 139 that God is in the highest heights and the lowest depths, He has made every person on purpose and for a purpose, and He is longing to lead us in the way of truth everlasting.
